Common questions

Which school platforms work?

Canvas, Schoology, Blackboard, Brightspace (D2L), Moodle, Sakai, ManageBac, Veracross and Blackbaud, plus any other system that offers a private calendar (iCal or .ics) link. Pick yours in Nudge and it shows you where the link lives. Google Classroom isn’t supported, because school accounts usually hide its private calendar address.

How do I connect my school?

Copy your platform’s private calendar link in a web browser, then paste it into Nudge: tap “Paste my calendar link” on Home, or open Settings › School calendar. Use the private HTTPS calendar-feed link—not a course-page address. You can also import a supported .ics calendar file.

  • Canvas: Calendar › Calendar Feed (bottom of the right column).
  • Schoology: the arrow by your name › Account Settings › Share your Schoology Calendar › Enable. The link appears once your calendar has at least one event.
  • Blackboard: Calendar › the gear › the ⋯ menu › Share Calendar.
  • Brightspace: Calendar › Settings › Enable Calendar Feeds, then Subscribe › All Calendars and Tasks.
  • Moodle: Calendar › Import or export calendars › Export calendar › Events related to courses, Recent and next 60 days › Get calendar URL.
  • Sakai: Home › Calendar › Publish (private) › Generate.
  • ManageBac: Calendar › Subscribe to Calendar.
  • Veracross: Calendar › Subscribe › Class Assignments › copy the link next to All Classes.
  • Blackbaud: Assignment Center › calendar view › the feed icon.

Why is an assignment missing?

Pull down on Nudge’s Home screen to refresh and make sure your school connection still shows as connected in Settings. Calendar feeds include dated events; undated work or items your institution omits from the feed will not appear automatically. You can add an assignment manually instead.

Why does finished work still appear?

School calendar feeds provide due dates but do not tell Nudge what you submitted. Mark an assignment finished in Nudge after handing it in. This changes only Nudge and does not submit or alter work in your school’s platform.

Why didn’t I receive a reminder?

Check that Deadline nudges are enabled in Nudge, that iOS allows notifications, and that an iOS Focus is not silencing them. Reminders move outside your quiet hours, and iOS ultimately controls delivery timing. Open Nudge to refresh your deadlines and reminder schedule.

Can I use Nudge without an account?

Yes. Assignments, reminders, planning, and widgets work without an account. Signing in is optional and saves your school calendar link so that connection can be restored on another phone.

How do I disconnect my school or erase my data?

Open Nudge Settings to disconnect the calendar feed or choose “Erase everything” to remove assignments and finished history from that phone. Neither action changes anything in your school’s platform.

Privacy and account deletion

Read the Nudge Privacy Policy for details. If you created an account, choose “Delete account” in Nudge Settings to delete the account and saved calendar link. Local assignments remain until you erase them separately. You can also email [email protected] with a privacy request.

Important reminder

Nudge is an organizational aid, not an official academic record or guaranteed alarm system. Confirm due dates and submission status in your school’s platform or directly with your school and instructors.
